JV Blue Devils Win HJK Championship!
It was a perfect day for football at Orchard Park High School where both the Freshman and JV teams had the opportunity to take home the first championship since the inaugural season in the Hunter James Kelly Youth Football and Cheerleading Association.
The Freshman game was hard fough and the East Aurora defense played a tremendous game stopping several first and goal opportunities against the Bulldogs for Alden. In the end the Blue Devils came up on the short end of a 14-0. The team had a great season and I'm sure they can't wait for next season to begin.
The JV team was in top form as they went on to dominate the Patriots from Boston by the score ot 33-18. The trophy will remain in the weight room all season until the next team is crowned in 2010.

FRESHMEN AND JV TEAMS ADVANCE TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES!
Playing in what seemed like hurrican force winds, the freshman Blue Devils overcame the elements and a tough call early on to advance to the championship game against Orchard Park Maroon next week at Orchard Park High School. East Aurora defeated Hamburg 21-0 with some outstanding defensive team play and some timely plays by the offense. The game began with a 60 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Owen Smith which was called back with a holding penalty which was about 20 yards behind the play. The offense struggled but the defense held tough and we will see you all next week in Orchard Park.
The JV team just like the Freshman team played outstanding team defense and took care of business by defeating the Orchard Park Buffaloes 8-0. OP's featured back Austin Grant could never get around the corner against the Blue Devils who kept the game between the tackels. Logan Murray scored on a 26 yard touchdown run for the only score of the game. East Aurora will play at 12PM at Orchard Park High School against Boston.
IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!!
This Saturday the high flying Freshmen Blue Devils will be traveling Boston to face the Hamburg Lions. The Blue Devils (8-1) will attempt to trump the Lions (7-2) to advance to the championship game held the following week. This is their first matchup of the season. The game is at 10AM. The JV team will travel to Orchard Park High School to face the Orchard Park Maroon Buffaloes at 12PM. The JV Blue Devils come in at 9-0 while the Buffaloes bring a record of 7-2 to the game. Freshman and JV Up To Challenge This Weekend
(October 17th, 2009) - There were some rumblings around the league that the Freshman and JV great records were misleading because of a weak early schedule. Well they put that notion to rest this weekend in Hamlin Park. The Freshman team started the day with a 62 yard touchdown run by Owen Smith. They cruised the rest of the way to come away with a 18-7 victory over Boston (6-2) to improve their record to 7-1. Later in the day the JV squad took the field against the formerly undefeated Patriots (6-1-1). The boys in blue broke out from a scoreless first quarter to score 29 unanswered points and went on to a 29-6 victory to improve to 8-0.
Three Games, Three Victories This Weekend for The Little Loopers
(October 10th, 2009) - After setting the stage with an impressive show of talent in the Pee Wee game against Eden, the Blue Devils Freshman team dismantled the Raiders with an impressive 31-7 victory at Paul J. Debalski field. Then the undefeated JV squad battled an outmanned Raider team and wound up with a resounding 33-6 victory. Coach Mike Coatsworth was able to get thirty players who either ran, caught, or touched the ball. Lineman had a blash showing their running skills today. Finally the Varsity squad came away with their first victory of the season by defeating Holland 13-6. Next week the boys in blue are back for their final home game of the season against Boston.

Freshman Triumphs, JV Squad Remains Unbeaten, Varsity Loses in a Close One
(October 3rd, 2009) - After an entertaining appetizer in the Pee Wee exhibition, the Freshman Blue Devils (5-1) teed off on Orchard Park Maroon (4-2) with some quick scores and ended up taking the contest 22-0. The JV squad took the field next for a much anticipated matchup against OP Maroon (4-2) and showed that their undefeated record was no fluke by defeating the Buffaloes 14-8. The Varsity squad faced the Lancers from Hamburg and came out on the short end of a 9-6 score. The Blue Devil defense was stout in the second half which gave the boys in blue a chance on their last drive.
JV Squad Remains Undefeated
(September 30th, 2009) - After their decisive 33-7 victory over Orchard Park White, the JV squad is still undefeated at 5-0. Next up, Orchard Park Maroon.
